Well, I would go for patching the mainline driver as this would allow for an pull-request. Using the manufacturer driver is also an option, depending on your use case....
I'm assuming then I won't be able to use the mainline driver as is given the resolution difference. Its seems like my options would be to either:.
- create a patch for the mainline to adjust the resolution, front porch, back porch, etc then recompile the kernel
- recompile the kernel with the manufacturer provided driver and adjust the make file appropriately
No!...
Anyway to do this without recompiling the kernel or editing the make files?
