W.r.t. the "Pi Hut USB-to-SATA adapter" is it, per chance, this one:

W.r.t. the P5, FWIW, and to provide other lsusb examples etc. with various devices connected including, eventually, a USB-to-SATA connected SSD see here:

NB: I rarely attempt to set up a new Pi by purely headless methods, esp. a new model despite having used Linux (at home) since RedHat 2.2 (and Linux or Unix flavours at work pre-Pi and my retirement) .
