The inside of the cardboard box has been treated with an antistatic coating. It saves money and plastic.

Not good enough I'm afraid.

It wouldn't be difficult for the contents to be squashed whilst the jiffy bag appears untouched.

Then it should be packaged better then?, and for reference, the outer packaging was perfect, but if the 'inner' contents were secured, then it may have just survived whatever?

I doubt it.

You must know better than all then?

In an effort to save the planet from e-waste I'd test the Pi and if it works, then I'd unplug it and carefully straighten the pins.

Although not everyone wants to use stuff that comes pre-broken, if you can, why not?
