I ordered a Pi5 8GB with official power supply and case on September 30. Sparkfun acknowledged the order and charged my credit card. BUT, as of today, no Pi5 and NO communication whatsoever from Sparkfun. I've sent them several messages (they don't reveal an email, you have to go through a webform) with no replies. Yesterday I wrote to cancel the order; again, no reply to this message.
Sparkfun seems to be an authorized US reseller (and I AM in the US, hence the "z" in "authorized"). But their customer service is among the worst I've encountered. I'd be fine if they would even just answer my messages and say "hold on, it will come someday."
Has anyone else in the US ordered from Sparkfun and received their Pi5? It would be interesting to know where I was in the queue. I know plenty of other people have received this amazing little board, and I'm a bit frustrated. I will order from someone else (so far DigiKey only seems to be selling the 4GB version, and Adafruit never seems to have neither version in stock whenever I check). rpilocator only lists those two companies as US distributors of the Pi5, not sure why.
Sorry for the rant, and I'm definitely not blaming the Pi folks for any of this. It's just frustrating, and I'm an old entitled codger.
