What's the rating on your SSD's? Most likely 3.3V, but how many A?

The Kingston NVMe SSD is 3.3v @ 4.5W (maximum on writes). That would be 1.36A if all 4 data lanes were used or 0.34A for the 1 data lane used on a Raspberry Pi 5.

I don't know the Buffalo USB3 SSD power consumption, but it's plugged into a powered USB3 hub.
Why would the number of lanes affect how much current it takes to erase a block of flash and write it with new data?

Even so, It seems possible the power needed to flash the SSD may cause the Ethernet to miss some packets at which point the retransmissions result in a slow write speed.
