why doesn't the Raspberry Pi company wait until they can actually ship the product BEFORE they send samples to all the youtubers and ramp up the hype

Well Cybertruck took even longer, so that makes Elon Satan?

I am just guessing, those that complain the most have never made a production run of anything.
Lots of people think Tesla is just another car maker, it is not.
What Telsa does is make factories and production processes better than all the other makers.
The Cybertruck has a 48V system with Ethernet over CAN, that is revolutionary.
Same with the stainless body and castings.
Ditto with SpaceX who now can make quantities of rocket motors and rockets faster and more reliable than any other company.

Raspberry Pi Ltd are making more SBCs than any other small business, small when compared to Apple or Intel.

That's some vapourware.

One could go on at length with examples. Typical pattern is, Intel announces a new processor chip, saying it will be available in the future, often 6 to 9 months after the announcement. By the time an individual can actually *buy* that chip, it will be an additional 6 to 12 months after the claimed launch date.

Personally, I got to play with Pi5s at the Maker Faire in Vallejo (at the RPF stand...they had 4 of them up and running all the time) in mid-October. So there were certainly production boards in existence then. Calling the Pi "vaporware" really grates, because they were shipped when the RPT said they'd be shipped (people reported receiving pre-orders starting right around the end of October). That's anything but "vaporware".

While the OP sounds sincere enough--and frustrated, to boot--to a degree I think we've all been trolled, at least a little bit.
