Hi - Thanks. I just thought of that myself. I disabled kodi.service so Kodi would not start automatically. Now the mouse and keyboard work properly when my RPi boots, so there is something in the kodi.service file that is causing the problem - most likely the user and group entries, I think.
I am going to leave it disabled because I can launch the GUI whenever I want to use Kodi, so problem solved. Thanks for your help in figuring this out.
