Nope, that's part of the file system superblock which you shouldn't delete when creating the new partition over the old. fdisk sees it and gives you the option of keeping it. This way the original UUID and label are preserved.My recollection is you may need to update the UUID for the root filesystem in cmdline.txt if the system doesn't boot after resizing.Thank you, I shall doing it with the dd
