Beginners • Re: Use raspberrypi.local when there is no internet?

The only part I guess I'm not sure about is when the caller ask for "raspberrypi.local", is caller broadcasting it in a way that the caller has to connect to the internet (such as DNS) in order to broadcast it correctly?

it shouldn't be and it isn't designed to. Can you image the chaos and network slowdowns if it were designed that way and everyone was doing it?
I found some webpages saying that windows in the past has to install "bonjour" in order to do so.
Recently windows 10 has already started supporting mDNS, but I'm not quite sure about whether this is true and how good they do this job ...

My laptop is using windows 10 Education N Version 22H2.
It should be built in but I'm not familiar with the particular version of windows. Installing bonjour probably won't hurt but if your PC can resolve name.local when it has an internet connect and can't when it doesn't the porblem is likey somewhere else.
