Ah, but people would complain as it's not the new tech on the block connector like CAMM (you can still have all the memory config as you do so-dimm) and then there would be people trying to stick on CMs into it and getting confused.Actually a standard DIMM connector would be better as they could then sell it at various memory levels, including a cheapest 'no RAM' solution as the world is awash with smaller memory modules removed from PCs.You never know it might have a CAMM connector to expand the ram.
Doubt it, but that would certainly be a surprise.
CAMM module use would hit tech site headlines!, think of the marketing.
Plus, just think how this modern quirk would also annoy people and they can come and rant about it (ala 5V5A, mini and then microHDMI...)
Yet more marketing.
Technical:
Given the Pi5 uses 4x RAM chips, is that usable on so-dimms? I though these mobile phone/ULP laptops ram chips needed CAMM setups for replaceable memory on these low voltage levels (or CAMM2 I think they are at now). Do CAMM module even come in DDR4x or is it DDR5 only at the moment?
You know that's something I'll have to go look up sometime.
