How can you know how much space you need until the project is finished? Surely you didn't fix the size before you got things working? Besides, an Arduino Nano is quite small, as is a Pi Pico.ehh... I would like to avoid adding another device, don't have enough space.
I have tried to add 1k resistor on Step line of A4988 and this helped a little but it didn't solve the problem.
I belive that this is software issue but I have no idea how to change the code.
How did the 1k resistor help? What made you think it would? How did you determine that it had?
Yes, it's a software issue. The OS is non-deterministic, and your code can be interrupted at any time. Therefore your carefully calculated delays etc. are stretched by random amounts.
