I tried installing tvheadend on a Pi 5 8GB running Bookworm Lite and it crashed, just the same as reported above.
I moved everything over to a Pi 4B 1GB and completed the install and everything was fine.
Switched it back to the Pi 5 and tvheadend crashes it on startup.
Back to the Pi 4B, disabled tvheadend.service.
Back to Pi 5. Now starts up normally without tvheadend.
Manually started tvheadendEdited to add:
Tried without the TV HAT and there were no problems (other than no TV, of course).
Just to note, the HAT I am using was a suspiciously cheap one from an Amazon seller. It looks identical to the genuine article (I do have one of those, but it's in use). It came in what looked like the proper packaging and everything.
