Just FYI, I created my own adapter cable:
(1) USB-C male -> goes into the Pi
(2) USB-C female -> to connect the official power adapter
(3) USB-B female -> to connect the PC or other MIDI compatible device
I connected the Vcc on (1) to the Vcc on (2), the GND on (1) to GND (2) and GND (3), and then both D+/D- from (1) to (3).
It works perfectly!
I thought there was much more 'magic' going on in USB to get those high speeds, but nothing seems to have changed since UART
. If anything, it has become simpler. USB-3 is a little bit more complex but still nothing special really. USB-2 cables don't even need any kind of shielding.
