Found this thread whilst looking for info on powering my Pi4 in my Classic Mini.
The last post was only last month, but what was the outcome of this project? Did you manage to add safe shutdown?
I have been using a Mausberry 3A:
https://www.mausberrycircuits.com/colle ... ply-switch
But after plugging my Pi into it, the Pi is now dead (Pi 3 still works with it though), but I am a bit reluctant to plug another Pi4 into it, in case the PMIC on the Pi4 is more sensitive that the Pi3?
So, I have been looking for a DC - DC Buck Converter solution but could not find a guide that gave all the answers I needed, so I was about to opt for the Car Pi HAT Pro https://thepihut.com/products/carpihat- ... 3348709571 (as I also need an Audio HAT). However it is £99, I was going to bite the bullet, but it is currently out of stock, so I may go back to a DIY setup.
I am in the UK and have found what I hope is the same step down buck converter here:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/DAOKAI-Convert ... C70&sr=8-1
Along with these USB C pigtails:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/PENGLIN-Type-C ... hdGY&psc=1
My only issue is that a car has const 12v and switched 12v and the Mausberry takes both and offers a way of shutting down the Pi safely when the ignition is switched off. With this Buck converter I can only user 12v constant?
So how can I also impliment safe shutdown?
