First of all thanks to hippy, thagrol and everyone who wrote. Understanding the point they mention and it seems totally understandable to me that a consultancy is paid.

In my case, honestly, it is a project for a small company where I recently started working as a developer. So yes, there is a profit motive. However, it is clear that any progress made in this regard (connecting Raspberry as a USB drive) will be documented and the process shared in support of global knowledge. In any case I understand your point.

Discover thagrol guide before you reach this post. I tried to carry out the step by step. The problem is that my electronic engineering colleagues do not believe in the possibility of transferring data from a Raspberry 4b through the USB-C port since for them this is exclusively power.

For now, the closest I am to the goal (extracting data from a welder that only has a USB host and no wireless capabilities) has been to connect a USB switch to both the welder and the raspberry and through this switch both are connected to the storage unit. The operator would send the data to the memory and press the switch button, this would be recognized by the raspbery which, through a python program, does a periodic check and if it finds new files it sends them to a database and by email.
The problem with this is that, ideally, you want to avoid having to press the switch and have the connection be direct between the raspberry and the welder.

Greetings!! Thanks!
