It also looks like the Linux kernel in 6.10 will provide a new PWM interface as well. I saw patches come through yesterday on the kernel-GPIO list.
I think you are referring to the gpio-pwm module. That isn't a new PWM interface, it is software PWM provided by the kernel using any GPIO pin and using high resolution kernel timers. So sure to be less jittery than any userspace software PWM. You will still drive that from userspace using the existing PWM sysfs interface.

There is a PWM character device interface in development, but that hasn't been merged yet and certainly wont make 6.10.
