There are over 64000 packages in the Debian repository, which is what is used to provide apt support. Redshift is one. We do not test every single product in that 64000 to see if they work on the Pi, so unless someone reports something as not working, we do not know if it needs to be there or not. And of course, there are different levels of "not working". One quick test - does the program start up, But that doesn't cover functionality - does the program run, but not work at all, or does it run and 99% of it works but one feature doesn't. Where does the line get drawn? And consider, who decides whether something works "well enough"? That requires knowledge of the application itself. So to be comprehensive, we now need to test 64k applications, with adequate domain knowledge of each one to know whether it works "well enough".WELL DONT PUT redshift AS A OPTION to install it on the raspberry pi, since i found it does not work it SIMPLE , this is another nail in the coffin, that is turning me off ...........It's kind of tricky to report that a message has been deleted...
Redshift is not a program from Raspberry Pi, so fixing it is not down to us.

So, no, it's not "simple" to do.
