Troubleshooting • Re: Chromium Fails to Launch Consistently on Raspberry Pi OS Lite with GNOME-core

Hello everyone,

I'm updating my post with some recent findings to see if anyone can provide further insight. Despite trying all previously suggested solutions, including installing `rpi-chromium-mods`, deleting the `.config/chromium` and `.cache/chromium` directories, and monitoring errors via terminal execution, Chromium still fails to launch consistently on my Raspberry Pi 5 with 8GB of RAM.

When I start Chromium from the terminal, I encounter several errors which may be related to the issues I'm experiencing. Here are the error messages I received:

Code:

dpkg-query: no packages found matching bluealsa[3370:3370:0621/101116.999431:ERROR:gpu_init.cc(577)] Passthrough is not supported, GL is egl, ANGLE is [3370:3436:0621/101117.795739:ERROR:v4l2_utils.cc(513)] Could not open /dev/video10: No such file or directory (2)[3370:3436:0621/101117.795943:ERROR:v4l2_utils.cc(513)] Could not open /dev/video10: No such file or directory (2)[3281:3281:0621/101117.811932:ERROR:object_proxy.cc(576)] Failed to call method: org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver.GetActive: object_path= /org/freedesktop/ScreenSaver: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NotSupported: This method is not implemented[3370:3436:0621/101117.846647:ERROR:v4l2_utils.cc(513)] Could not open /dev/video10: No such file or directory (2)[3370:3436:0621/101126.253859:ERROR:v4l2_utils.cc(513)] Could not open /dev/video10: No such file or directory (2)[3370:3436:0621/101126.674643:ERROR:v4l2_utils.cc(513)] Could not open /dev/video10: No such file or directory (2)
Furthermore, I checked the available video devices and found that `/dev/video10` is indeed missing. Here are the video devices currently available on my system:

Code:

video19 video22 video25 video28 video31 video34 video37 video20 video23 video26 video29 video32 video35 video21 video24 video27 video30 video33 video36
It seems that there may be issues with video device access and other system integrations. Any guidance or suggestions on how to resolve these specific errors would be highly appreciated.

Thanks again for your help,
Wobbo
