Troubleshooting • Re: Booting a system from USB sometimes breaks bootloader

The issue is about RPI5, and I'm using the latest bookworm with latest "sudo apt update/upgrade".

On first power up, the system starts. I can see the desktop.
Then it expands the file system and reboots.
After that, the bootloader is no longer functional. I can wait. I can cycle the power multiple times, but no boot information on the screen appears.
Then I insert the bootloader SD card, power up, wait until status LED flashes and green screen appears on display.
Then remove SD card, power cycle and the same system starts and works correctly without further issues.

One thing on my system that I can think of and that is related to EEPROM is that I set "PSU_MAX_CURRENT=5000" with "sudo rpi-eeprom-config --edit"

After customization, the system is imaged and shrank with pishrink.
