Troubleshooting • Re: How does the Raspberry Pi 5B fit into the SPI display so that it can display a GUI?

I've added that but don't recommend to use the rotation from the firmware file.
You will learn why if you took deeper dive into display controllers.

Use the display in it's 'native' orientation from the firwmare file point-ofy-view and then use the screen configuration editor for rotating it.

If VNC doesn't work you should make sure to update your OS. Confirmed working here for all SPI displays used with mipi-dbi-spi driver here.
Ok thx for the hint!

I mean VLC player, not VNC. I think I have the latest OS (32bit) on my pi5. But I also did rpi-update in the past... My system is now:

Code:

Linux rpi5 6.1.68-v8+ #1708 SMP PREEMPT Thu Dec 14 16:09:41 GMT 2023 aarch64 GNU/Linux
never ever used 32-bit on Pi5 so can't give any advice.
I'm running 64bit OS.

Sure VLC, made a Typo!
Details on vlc command line are i.e. Here https://wiki.videolan.org/VLC_command-line_help/

Sorry, are you running a lite OS and want to have video or what is your setup/aim?

Mplayer? Don't think that will work on KMS/wayfire.
