I would appreciate any advice, or even just confirmation that someone has been able to access a pi webserver by hostname over USB tether from an Android device. Or even corroborating accounts of it not working.
My workaround for now is to assign usb0 a static IP in the same range my phone grants via dhcp. That way I can at least tell the user to browse to an IP address and then bookmark it. This works across multiple replugs but have no idea if other Android devices might assign an IP with a different network id.
