Troubleshooting • Cannot Boot old Raspberry Pi with new software

Hey, i bought a Raspberry Pi 4B 4 years old. Ran it for a year and then bought another computer, never using again the Raspberry for 3 years. I decided to boot it 3 or 4 days ago and it booted, but everything looks a bit odd. I could't enter my browser (witch is Chroumium), although i already solved that problem, and everything it's out of scale (windows and the font inside it's very big and i already tried to configure the raspberry to small displays). That said, i decided to buy a new SD card and install the newest version of Raspberry Pi OS. When I first bought the computer, I watched a full course on youtube at the Curso em Vídeo channel and everything worked. But now, NOOBS doesn't exist anymore, i tried your new Raspberry Pi Imager and it didn't boot and I also tried to install the OS manually thru the image, but still, it didn't work. TWell, I'm using the original power supplier that I bought with the Raspberry. When I boot it with the old SD card, witch has old software (2019 or 2020 OS), it boots and works "normally". I say "normally", because everything looks big (even though i already configured the raspberry pi for small displays, since my display is a 24" display), but still, the font, and the size of the windows are bigger than normal. Also, when I tried to enter Chromium, it kept crashing over and over, but I figured out, opening a lot of winodws at the same time. That apparently solve the problem. But still, it crashed sometimes when accessing youtube etc etc. So, i decided to buy a new SD card and tried to install the new OS. I tried the imager and also using Etcher. Either way, it didn't work. When I put the new SD card on the Raspberry, When booting, it recognizes de card (because the card's name appears on the screen among the other informations), but it never enters on the desktop. What do you think? I think that this may be linked to other thing, witch is the firmware, witch hasn't been updated too. When I tried to update the firmware using the old SD card, a message on the terminal saying "you may lose some data" appeared, and i didn't want that to happen, since my first programs ever are on that SD card :/. Anyway, do youy have any idea? Is there anything else that can be done? Thanks you very much
