On the router, the assigned IP is 192.168.1.xxx.
Well there's your problem. ".xxx" is not a valid part of an IP address. It should be a number from 1 to 254. Image may be NSFW.

Seriously though, there's no need to obfuscate part of a Private IP address (10.x.x.x, 172.16-31.x.x, 192.168.x.x) as they are local access only.

Can you ping the Pi's IP address from the PC?

Can you ping the PC's IP from the Pi?

On the Pi, can you "ssh localhost" and check you can login from there?
