It really does not get much simpler than this:I'm definitely tempted to try it but I also I'm trying to be careful about maintaining overall simplicity of this project as I learn. Whatever I end up doing, can I post back here and get your feedback regarding the portable power solution? I'll be honest and I hope it's an understandable approach, I may go with something smaller and self-contained like is mentioned on that power bank website just because it makes it a quicker step in the project and The first time I'm trying to really follow through and finish something as a prototype rather than leave 100 unfinished things lying around.
- A power source: the battery
- A regulated supply: the buck converter
- The load device that both if those things feed: your Pi (which is not portable).
The only thing I can think of that is simpler is to use an official Pi PSU that you plug into mains on one side and the Pi in the other.
